No. I know the author's intentions were right, but I can't stand a sick love like this and pretend it's ok.Derek was a manipulative an controlling guy and Beth was a girl with low self esteem who grew too dependent of him.Is that the vision of love that I want young readers to learn? No.I enjoyed the reading, I did, but Derek was so creepy the whole time and I didn't mind about his secret and everything, he still had this abusive personality that I couldn't forget about.And Beth? I thought that she'd learn something from this whole "The Beast" situation, that she'd learn that looks are not the most important thing. But she didn't. She had self esteem problems and when her appearance changes, then, all of a sudden, her life is great. No. Is that the message we want to learn? She learnt nothing from the whole situation.Besides that, I found annoying the number of times the author confuses "you're" for "your". English is not my mother tongue, but even I notice this kind of things... Este libro moría por leerlo desde hace bastante, bastante tiempo.Y tenía la certeza de que sería un libro profundo . Y aunque la primera parte me hizo pensar que era un libro muy predecible con tópicos, después el recorrido del libro, tanto de situaciones como personajes cambia y lo transforma en algo más profundo. Los personajes se ven que evolucionan desde como empieza, hasta como termina el libro.Con Beth me gusta los mensaje que se tocan: en sentir confianza en uno mismo, aceptar cómo eres y nunca dejarte, ante nadie, menospreciar y que te digan que no vales. Aunque me hubiera gustado que este mensaje se reforzará más por aceptarse como es ella misma, no por todo el cambio que sufre.Derek es un personaje con un secreto, que para ti como lector es muy evidente su origen por todos los detalles y pistas que se dan. Cosa que es muy obvia y que no entiendes como la protagonista no se da cuenta.El final es más profundo, conoces mejor los personajes, sus tonos, su vulnerabilidad, sus miedos y el amor con una extensión más allá de la simplemente atracción física.El final es triste, pero deja un buen sabor de boca. Da varios mensajes y muchos significados que se pueden complementar en tu vida. Yo recomiendo mucho esta historia!
