About book Silver Heart (2013)

Making the choice between a boring prefabricated life or living in the moment with your destined lover? This is the decision Dylan Silver must make, in the book Silver Heart.Growing up, Dylan has always played the idealistic child for her dictatorial parents, living her life to make them happy. And as a teen, to ensure their happiness she had to give up her own. Now at 22 years old, having her parents control her social life, love life and education, is status quo. That is, until Dylan decides to spend her only vacation of the year with her carefree BFF Maddie. The two make plans to live it up for one week at a ski resort. While making good on their promise, they run into the only man Dylan has ever loved; Sexy snowboarder, Sawyer Carter!!! Even after 6 years of no communication or contact the fire between these two can melt all the snow on Whistler. The world knows Sawyer as an X GAME jock, with unparalleled good looks who has a following of snow bunnies as long as the slopes he ride, however with all the perks his talent has assured him, his heart only wants Silver. So he decides immediately to explore a relationship with Dylan, but she has other plans for their one week together. Dylan needs to find a way to break free from her overbarren parents to enjoy her life the way she wants! Victoria Green “Angloed” this sweet love story!!! She added the right amount of misunderstandings, angst and steamy love scenes to make this romance a very enjoyable read. *free copy provided for honest reviewreviewed by Lourdesfor more reviews visit welovekink(dot)com I had my doubts about this book as soon as I started reading it. I HATE books where the main character lets their parents control their lives! And Dylan Silver is the worst kind of pushover when it comes to her parents. She is a 22 year old Pre-Med student who has never made one decision in her life that was her own. She wants to be a photographer, but her parents forced her towards Med school. She wants to experience the world with her friend Maddie, but her parents told her she needs to focus only on studying. She wants to get out and meet guys, but her parents have found a suitable guy for her named Preston, so that is who she has been dating for the last two years. UGH!!!!!!!!!!Anyway, against her parent's (especially her mom's) advice, Dylan takes a week off from school and studying to head to Whistler with her best friend Maddie and her brother Adam to just cut loose a little and have fun. It is there that fate steps right in front of Dylan and smacks her in the face. She runs into Sawyer Carter, snowboarding Olympic hopeful, who just so happens to also be one of her best friends that she lost contact with 6 years ago when she was 16. She also was head over heels in love with him at the time he left, but she never had the guts to tell him so.I love how Sawyer and Dylan's relationship picks up where it left off. Sawyer is amazing! He doesn't play any of the typical mind games that hot guys play. Especially a hot guy who is pretty famous and a serious athlete. He is quick to let Dylan know that he has thought about her for six years, and no girl in the mean time has measured up to what he felt for her. However, it quickly becomes obvious that the only reason these two never chanced a romantic relationship was because of Dylan's awful and controlling parents (mostly her bitch mom), who thought Sawyer was from the "wrong side of the tracks," and not suitable company for their daughter or their son. Sawyer had a terrible home life, and used snowboarding as his escape, so when he became good enough to attract the attention of sponsors, he used that as his out and left home for good. Which meant he also left Dylan - but he never forgot her.Dylan and Sawyer's chemistry is amazing! I love how he was continually pushing her to let go and to experience life. I have to say that I had my doubts that she would ever grow a back bone and take control of her own life, but she earned my respect in the end. I just think she should have stood up for herself about 6 years sooner! This book is a standalone novel with a HEA, and is told from Dylan's point of view. I loved all of the characters (even though Dylan's brother Adam has a serious stick up his butt!), and I think the story meshed together very well. It was a pretty quick and enjoyable read, and even though it took me a while to get on board with Dylan, Sawyer will melt your heart from the moment you meet him. Definitely a book worth checking out if this is a genre you enjoy!
