The story highlights the dark and cruel speculations that pass around in small towns. A girl who looks forward to escaping to the city befriends a guy known as the creep among town, who doesn't really belong anywhere yet has been everywhere. Both discover the true definition of friendship and beauty, or atleast that's how I saw it. No further spoilers, except here's a fair warning, things take turn for the worse. A stranger swathed in bandages comes to the nondescript town of Large Mouth (Population: 754). His efforts at staying invisible however, are thwarted as the town inhabitants are curious, then suspicious and then downright scared. A local teenage girl befriends him and much to his reluctance, discovers the secret hidden under the bandages. This is the story of the Invisible Man, not as a crazed monster but a hapless victim of his own passionate quest. It's interesting to note how even an Invisible Man is unable to stay truly invisible. That apart, the story dragged a bit for me and ended rather anti-climatically.
This was too short and uneventful. I recommend reading Lemire's much better series, "Essex County".

It was alright. Graphic novel. A bit of a mystery. But nothing to blow your mind.

I think my favorite of Jeff Lemire's.
