Carny Sullivan grew up as a child of con-artist, carnival parents. She left this way of life to give her son a good life in a small town. The small town of Serenity Texas finds a place in their heart for Carny and Jason and she in turn finds God and a place for the town's residents. When big time con-artist Logan Brisco comes to town for perhaps his biggest swindle ever, fireworks start as Carny works to protect her friends from Logan. But she has a hard time protecting herself. The plot on this Terri Blackstock is not as involved as may of her others but it is a good read. I loved this book! The story takes you from a world of mistrust and cons, to a world of trust and forgiveness. It flows so beautifully you can't put it down until you see how it all ends.I loved Carny and Logan although I must admit I wasn't very fond of Logan in the beginning and even at the end of the book I had a hard time liking Carny's parents. There was one person I wish the author had told us more about and I'm hoping there might be a book about her someday and that is Ruth, the "fat lady" at the carnival who was the one that really raised Carny.You will not be disappointed with this book. If you read the earlier version of this book that was written many years ago and revamped for a Christian market, PLEASE read this new version. It is well worth the read.
