Hmm, my second foray into this series, and its another solid three but no more. This time the story was told in Jacks voice, from his POV, which i liked. It was good to read how he felt about Pete (Petunia) and made this one a bit more of a romance. But the dithering on about how he wouldnt tell Pete that he might be dying so that she wouldnt get involved or hurt in the process was a bit tedious. And of course in the end she finds out, (rather anticlimatically) and she stays by his side. The ending leaves a bit of a cliffy for the next in the series but i'm not in a rush to tackle it just now. Good story but am going to check out some other pararom books for now. More like a 3.5. This is an improvement from the first but it still had trouble holding my attention. I would have chosen 4 stars to represent the 3.5 I'm feeling, but the cliff hanger ending pisses me off. I really hate cliff hanger endings. On the good side - the installment is told more from Jack's perspective and he's a more interesting read than Pete is. He's gritty and hard to like, but somehow you still want to keep rooting for him.The story is engaging, but it's unfolding slowly. The imagery is macabre and easy to plug in to.Moving on to #3.
Do You like book Sekretny Układ (2013)?
Good Urban Fantasy. Still relatively predictable, but some excellent moments.
