This thing reeked of the 80's. It was published in 1983 and then republished in 2001. I like this book wasn't terrible, but nor was it super good. I somewhat enjoyed it. However, I hated some of the sayings she included. "Kit and caboodle, rude boor, bungling,electronic games (code word for arcade)" etc. That wasn't 80's, that was more like 50's. Hailey was alright, though at points her insecurity would get annoying. She kept going on about how ugly she was, while the author would go on about how sexy she was. Tyler was just weird for me. The usual domineering, male type, I guess. Faith was alright. Sometimes she was a little off on her dialogue. Also what bothered me was the way the narration worked. Most of the time, it was all on Hailey's point of view, but then for one sentence or so, it would skip to Tyler's perspective or just an omniscient point of view. That bothered me. Most of it, like all romance novels, was a large cup of "instant love." When he goes on vacation for a few days, he realizes that she is the love of his life after dating her for less than a week or so. (The timeline on this story was unclear). Then he says, "let's get married!" at the end. Hailey was about to leave him and Faith, and that was his solution. *sigh* But that's the way it is with most of these books. Some of the lines Tyler said where so cheesy I wanted to vomit, but whatever. Books like this need to be taken at face value, for what it is and if you can do that and shut off your brain, then you'll moderately enjoy this.Also, I liked Ellen's character. She was interesting to see how she interacted with Hailey and Tyler. I liked her stories about work and the other girls at the office were.Wrote this review while watching Warm Bodies.

Dalam buku ini SB bercerita tentang seorang wanita bernama Hailey yang harus menghadapi bos barunya, yang luar biasa tampan dan sangat percaya diri, dan putrinya yang tiba-tiba sudah sangat akrab dengan Hailey.Sebagai seorang wanita pekerja yang profesional pastinya hailey berusaha untuk tampil profesional meskipun ia tidak menampik rasa tertariknya pada sang bos baru Tyler Scott. Tyler pun tidak membantu karena ia sama sekali tidak menutup-nutupi ketertarikannya pada Hailey.Chemistry antara kedua tokohnya sangat bagus, ditambah dengan konflik kepercayaan diri hailey hingga membuat hubungan antara dirinya dengan Tyler mendapat cobaan.Ceritanya bagus dan tidak membosankan. termasuk dalam genre romance SB. yang pastinya full romance.. and hot scene >.<

3.5 stars.Hailey is a responsible, sensible doormat. She's extremely good at her job, capable, and intelligent. She meets Tyler Scott, the owner of the amusement park she works for, and his daughter, Faith, and Tyler makes it pretty clear from the start that he intends for he and Hailey to have a relationship. Unfortunately, Hailey has a lifetime of insecurities, courtesy of her now-dead parents and her user little sister, so she keeps making mental jumps to convince herself that Tyler doesn't really want her. It was understandable but after a while became annoying too.As for Tyler, he was alpha but kind of a sweet one. He was cheerful, didn't call her names or get all ragey every time Hailey went off the deep end (even when I would have gotten ragey, Tyler still kept his cool). The whole book was told from Hailey's perspective so it was hard to get a feel for him as a real person with friends and interests outside of Hailey, but that's fairly common in many of the category romances.My biggest complaint about this one was that Hailey's sister didn't really get nearly enough of a comeuppance. I just didn't believe that Hailey the doormat would be able to tell her no when Tyler wasn't around.This was an audio read and I wasn't a big fan of the narrator. The quality of her voice made this book sound even more 80s than it already would have seemed. It's probably not fair to say I just didn't like her voice, but I didn't. Her performance was fine, I guess, it was just the sound of her voice I didn't like.All in all, a cute read. Not very memorable, but cute.

This is a cute romance with lots of dated material that will make you laugh, Atari anyone. The story centers around Haley and Tyler who meet at an amusement part when his daughter is stung by a bee and hysterical. Come to find out he is the man who owns the park along with lots of other things. Tyler immediately takes a shine to Haley and in their first meeting after the bee sting he declares that he plans to seduce her. Haley, always the good girl, isn't sure what to do and tells him is advances aren't wanted and if he continues she will have to bring sexual harassment charges. From here you can tell where the story will go, but that doesn't matter, it is a good "beach" read.
