About book Seattle Girl (2000)

This "book" showed up as a recommended buy because I like Sophie Kinsella's books. 'Seattle Girl' isn't even comparable to any of Kinsella's work; however, it was almost a guilty pleasure for me. I was at first disappointed that I couldn't find a paperback version but decided it would be a "fun" chance to read a story on my iPhone... Ultimately, it inspired me to write my first Amazon review. As a former college radio DJ with an excess of dating disaster stories, I was able to relate to Georgia in some ways. It was a quick read. I devoured it over the course of 24 hours, but in a sort of "so bad it's good" kind of way. I actually really liked her friends, Diane and Seth, and would be interested in reading more about them. Overall, I love chick lit, so it was just the sort of fluff I was looking for, but with a few major flaws.I don't understand how someone can write multiple books and still have an unforgivable amount of grammar and spelling mistakes. Misplaced apostrophes (SO many of these!), mixing up "there" and "their," leaving out quotation marks, sporadic spacing, etc. And the ENDING. How does a girl go from having no dating experience at age 21 to having a slew of suitors overnight? Then her perfect happy ending all falls into place in the last three pages. (Also, what ever happened to the stalker? I guess he's irrelevant now that her life is perfect.) I don't want to slam the book. I really did genuinely enjoy the story and the characters enough to get fully sucked in. It's not often I can finish a book that quickly. I just can't believe no one edited it (or, worse case scenario, it actually was "edited"). Pretty funny, quintessential chick lit. Woman, questioning herself and self-worth, goes through her dating life in a funny and quick manner to show us how they all have effected the person she is but will in no way continue to be. Yeah, yeah, I know there is more to Chick Lit than that but that's what I got out of this book and it was funny. So well worth the read. It was overly predictable and some awkward writing but it didn't feel like a waste of time which is always good in my book.

Do You like book Seattle Girl (2000)?

Didn't finish it because it was awful. The author was too present and far too pleased with herself.
