About book Searching For Schindler: A Memoir (2007)

My first memory of Schindler's List is watching it at a theatre in the Netherlands. I have always been fascinated with history and found this book to be less about Keneally and his process, then it was about Leopoldo Pfefferberg, the Schindlerjeuden who made it his life's mission to educate the world about Schindler. The first 2/3 of the story are fascinating, while the last gets bogged down in Hollywood business. Pretty good book. It was definitely interesting to follow Keneally's quest to discover the true story of Oskar Schindler. It provided reasoning behind why Keneally portrayed Schindler the way he did in his novel, not to mention how he heard about the amazing story in the first place. There were times where Keneally got off topic though, and it seemed to draw away from the text, which was a little frustrating at times. It was definitely an interesting book to read, and now I've added Schindler's List to the books I'm going to read over my winter vacation.

Great book, only if you have read 'Schindlers Ark' though. Keneally is very interesting.
