The only complaint I have is that I wish that this book was longer but it IS a short story. However, there are many points that I love. Again, Gena Showalter has taken someone who is not the common beauty and made her beautiful. I love that Nike is a strong woman and she can be seen by Atlas as the most beautiful woman in the world. I love that Atlas and Nike would willingly give up everything for each other. I was very intrigued by this story and like I said before, the only complaint I really have is that it wasn't longer. I recommend this book for Romance and Fantasy lovers. Setting: immortal prison, imprisoning the Titan, who overthrew the Greeks;Theme: acknowledging ones true feelings; love in challenging situations;Characters:Nike, Greek goddess of Strength and Victory: once the prison guard that kept Atlas imprisoned; now she is imprisoned, and Atlas is her jailer; she is of masculine lines, and not found to be attractive to many – and very pleased when Atlas showed interest in her; they have sex; she agrees to sneak him out of prison, releasing his collar, so that he is free – knowing she would be punished, up to and including death; but on their way out of prison, another guard comes in – and Nike figures out that Atlas was having sex with many guards hoping one would free him; she cuts/tattoos her name on his chest;Atlas: Titan god of Strength: Nike’s counterpart; he has not been able to forget Nike, and when Titans are freed, he takes possession of her house, and volunteers to become the jailer of the Greeks – to be near her; and after some time, he has her brought to him, and has his name tattooed on her back… and when he sees the tattoo – he does not feel vindicated from what she did to him, he does not feel satisfaction – he only feels MINE.Summary:And Nike is furious with him… then the next day he shows up with a woman, and when he sees her watching, he kisses her… then she calls over her ex-boyfriend and kisses him… and in anger he goes into her cell, drags her to his office (telling other guards he is going to relocate her)… angry words interspersed with passionate kisses… and he moves her into her own cell… she can’t tell what he is about – she had her love, and stomped on it – what does he want know? He leaves her alone for a few days… goes to her, sees her dejection… and he finally starts to be conscious about his true feelings for her – his admiration for her strength, her unique beauty, the way she stands up to him; he remembers that when he had sex with the other guards, he was thinking of her (convenient? : ) ; he wants her; he goes to Cronus to ask she be released to his care, a prisoner in his home – and Cronus says no; he frees her for an afternoon, taking her to a tent out of sight of the prison, with her favorite foods (he watched her), and a bath – she is delighted with it, and is relaxing her guard, and they make love; he makes plans over the next days… and finally goes to her, takes her out of the prison, releases her collar and tells her to go and hide – he says mean things to her to get her to leave… and on reflection she figures it out… tracks his house (her old house), and weapons up, and goes to free him… ahhhh : )
