I had a hard time getting into this one. Maybe because his wife isn't in it as much? Hard to say. The story wasn't all that interesting to me, though I still love the characters. I've also noticed that the author follows the "Perry Mason" model, where the reader doesn't have enough information to solve the mystery. Key facts are revealed right at the end, so we are more in the dark than the police. It hasn't bothered me until this book. I had very contradictory feelings reading this book.I think, mostly I had a problem with an author because (1) I could see her own judgments, opinions, points of view through her characters; (2) she is American who has spent many years in Venice, which still was not for me good enough reason to write from the point of view of real Venetian. I was struggling with author's attitude at the beginning of the book, but at the second part of it the story got more and more interesting and I could close my eyes of the fact that author's personality was shadowing book characters.
Do You like book Schöner Schein (2009)?
I always enjoy this series and this one was no exception. They are always great audiobooks.

Usual Donna Leon standard and I fall a little bit in love with Guido yet again!
