Let's just start out saying that you should read this book, okay?What fun characters! I wanted a paranormal book to read, but I was sick of the usual stuff that's out there. Scary Mary was so unique, and so fun, and it is a clean read! It played out more like a TV series than a novel, and the characters were definitely not the typical cookie-cutter types. Very, very well done and I will be reading the second book shortly.I took away one star because I was a little bit disappointed with the climax. It started out really intense, but once the cavalry showed up, things got a bit too flippant for the scene that it began to take away. I definitely loved that there was some bantering (it just fit the characters perfectly), but there was too much. It broke up the flow of the scene, and I lost that climactic intensity.Yes, the plot-line is very easy to figure out, but the character creation in this book is phenomenal. I came to adore the different personalities in this book, and can't wait to see what else this author can do! No, no, no, no, no. This book had failed me from the moment she walked into the counselors office. I'm tired of reading books about "rejects" where the reject goes along with everyone's crap! I'm tired of reading books where the WHOLE SCHOOL hates the "rejects". I'm tired of it. Despite this book being a short-book, it riled my blood up so much when I thought of the main characters attitude. She's horrible! She was rude, selfish, and a pain to me. I'm sorry but I wouldn't read this book if i were you.
