Saving Rachel is not the type of book I typically read, but I am expanding my horizons. I am reviewing this book for what it is and not allowing my preference for other types of novels to skew my review.Saving Rachel was a decent thriller; it was fast paced and easy read (if read without large time gaps between -- as some details still need to be in the forefront of your memory to follow along). The majority of chapters end in plot-twists and cliff-hangers, thus making you want to continue reading. There are no characters to sympathize with or become too attached to, which is important to some readers. In fact, this book does the opposite; you do not know much about the characters beyond the feelings and events that are intertwined in this love triangle. All characters are selfish and disrespectful to one another -- I would never want to associate myself with people who behave/act like ANY of the characters in the book – but I can tolerate reading about them.I recommend this book to people who enjoy reading about dramatic love affairs, can stomach reading about spousal/relationship abuse, and are looking for a fast-paced page-turner with some unexpected plot twists. However, if you are looking for a read where you want to find yourself fully immersed in the main characters and can relate to their feelings and logic – this is not the book for you. Found this book while visiting the library yesterday. Had never heard of John Locke before but after reading the blurb I thought I would give it a try. I have to say that this book was fantastic!!! It is told from the view of two characters so all the blanks have been filled in and each chapter ended in a cliff-hanger!!!This made me want to read on and as the chapters are quite short, before I knew it I had finished the book!Glad I took a chance with this book and will be looking out for more Donovan Creed books on my next library visit!!!
