About book Sara, Book 3: A Talking Owl Is Worth A Thousand Words! (2008)

The third (and possibly last) book of the Sara series, which introduces children to law of attraction, gives even more examples of how kids can help themselves to feel better when circumstances are less than ideal. Law of attraction states that like attracts like, and feeling good about life will produce the best results. Like all of us, the children in the book have plenty of life challenges to work with.In the second book, Sara and Seth have become best friends and share a secret treehouse. In the third book, Seth befriends a new girl at school, Annette, and wants to share everything with her: the treehouse, their talking owl friend, their time after school, and what they know of law of attraction. Sara is possessive of her special relationship with Seth, and doesn’t want to share. With the help of Solomon (the owl), the relationship between the three children grows, and Sara realizes that when she keeps an open mind, Annette has plenty to share with her as well. Annette also learns to trust Sara and feel comfortable sharing her secrets. Seth has many challenges of his own, and the girls, feeling sad, must work to find a way to approach his situation positively. This book explores the concept of death more completely than the others in the series. The message is that the body dies, but the spirit is eternal. Annette’s mother is dead, but Annette perceives her and communicates with her in spirit. The lines between the living and the dead become blurred as the children meet with Annette’s mother in the dream state, a most delightful story in which they think they’re awake. Both children and adults will like this book. It’s uplifting and gives real advice for people of all ages about how to feel better during trying circumstances. It’s also a charming story of three young people learning about how to relate positively to one another and the world throughout both easy and difficult times.
