About book Samson's Lovely Mortal (2010)

Initially I was interested in this book because it's about a vampire with ED(erectile dysfunction) problems, which is hilarious(since vamps are always portrayed as tireless, hedonistic sex gods). I wonder which is worse, sparkling & unable to kiss humans because you're venomous (Twilight) or being a man whore vamp with ED(this book). It's a toss up. Anyways, the book isn't bad. Lots of sweet parts. But the writing sometimes went bad, very bad. Example: "His hands stroked from her neck down to her navel. Like Magellan, he circled her breasts and sailed South, only to detour before reaching the South Pole. He navigated the small channel between her breasts like the Bosphorus, not being able to decide whether to lavish his attention first on Europe or on Asia."What in the hell is that drivel? Since when is talking about long dead explorers bedroom talk? Is this some strange new kink? Luckily this nonsense was at the end of the book, or else I would've DNF-ed it. So ridiculous.2.5 stars 3.5 stars (seriously why don't they give us half stars to use??)I did enjoy this book, it was an interesting and only slightly different take in vampires. Delilah is likable at first, she thinks she's plain jane boring due to her job, but she's more than that. She is an auditor and is auditing some inconstancies in the accounts for a business in San Fran. She is from New York. Anyways this guy follows her after work and basically chases her down, and she runs to this Victorian house she might have had dreamed about and bangs on the door.Samson is a vampire wish is having issues with his....er.....equipment down south. Of his body. He can't get it up. So on that night it's his birthday and his pals, trying to help him get it up again tell him they are sending a stripper. So when the banging happens on the door and he sees Delilah all soaking wet from the rain in a wet white shirt and black bra he assumes she is the stripper, putting on damsel in distress type show. She's not, but he doesn't realize it until his friends wander in with a stripper. And he had just assaulted her mouth and got his equipment in booking order so joy there.Overall the book was interesting and hott and sexy. But at the point in the book where the conflict arises I HATED how Delilah acted. She learns that Samson is a vampire, and freaks out, she has been having sex with him for a few days by this point and suddenly just because he is a vampire he is "different" "not the same person" it was like she was trying to justify why she couldn't be with him even though she wanted to be. I was annoying as hell and didn't need to span as long as it did.Eventually her actions cause her to be a target for her attackers again. And in the process Samson is severely injured. This pissed me off too because she suddenly gave in and realized she loved him, which ok I understand those types of experiences will do that to you but it was annoying nonetheless. So that's why it got 3.5 it could have been 4 or more if she didn't pull the diva drama queen card.

Do You like book Samson's Lovely Mortal (2010)?

YAYE, an unexpected good read! This book held my attention long enough for me to finish it in just two days. I'm a sucker for happy endings and thats exactly what I got from this.Samson and Delilah (I know, pretty corny right) are the main characters in this book. Samson is a very successful buisness vampire where Delilah is your average 9 to 5 working class human. Samson is going through some serious personal issues since the break-up with his ex-vampire girlfriend and he hasn't been the same since. Not only was he crushed from that relationship but he vowed to protect himself from any other scheming female who will try to get close to him and his fortune. The bad break-up has left him heartbroken, bitter, grumpy, mean and short-tempered.With his birthday approaching, his close friends have planned a surprise party for him and ordered a stripper in hopes of cooling Samsons temper and help make him forget about his canniving ex. Of course he had asked they not do anything like this but the guys were desperate to get him out of his dark mood. So when Delilah happen to run to his front door to escape an attack on her, Samson instantly believed her to be the "suprise stripper" his buddies ordered for him. Its at this point where life for Samson and Delilah will never be the same. For a freebie on amazon, it was a very enjoyable read. From a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the highest, I'd rate this a 4!
