OMG!! What an amazing and emotional story. It had me from the Prolouge. Poor Tate :( To suffer abuse at the hands of her mother was terrible. We were introduced to Tate and Noah (at Blake and Alex's wedding). She works for her brother Trace at his bar which is where Noah works as well. Not giving away any spoilers, you will love Noah. He sees the pain that Tate is hiding because they are so alike in so many ways. He wants to protect her and her ex is disgusting..My heart broke for Tate and what she endured by reading her letters to her Dad. (*tears*). Noah, with his Dad, my heart broke for him too. I was rooting for them throughout the book.Harlow is amazing and I like how she got close to Tate and helped her. Trace and Tate, I loved their reconciliation. He had no idea how bad it was. I cried for them too. The time Noah and Tate spent apart, made them grow and become stronger as individuals. I was so into this book I didnt want it to end. Noah standing up to his dad was awesome! Loved every minute of it!! This series is amazing! Add to your tbr list, you will not be disappointed!!Hoping for a little novella down the line :) I have fallen in love with L.B. Simmons' writing. She does an excellent job of painting a picture and drawing various emotions out of her readers. Running in Place was a beautiful story of heartache, friendship, love and overcoming. Tatum's childhood was rough. Her daddy died when she was just a little girl and her mom blamed her for his death. She prayed and hoped that her older brother, Trace, would come back and save her from the nightmare she was living. But the few times he did come home, he didn't believe her. So now, as an adult, she harbors so much hatred for the brother who left her behind. She meets Noah and their "friendship" certainly doesn't start out easy. In fact, the can't stand each other at first. But once they're forced to get to know one another, they realize that they understand each other's pain entirely too well. After that, they quickly fall into a relationship only for it to be short lived due to unfortunate circumstances.... Is the saying true? Is it better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all?
Do You like book Running In Place (2000)?
For some reason, I just couldn't get invested in either of the main characters.
