About book Rottuborgari (2014)

Not my favourite of David William's story, but perhaps thats because I don't like the idea of what happens with the burgers ;) I always enjoy that there are messages and morals to David's wild tales that clearly grab the childhood reader in us all. I had strong reactions to the characters in this tale - hate, sympathy, love. I am sure children would be able to relate the the step-mother and down trodden and out of luck father. A story to inspire hope, the ever strong and infinite power of father-daughter relationships and that the most hurtful in the most hurt on the inside. I've been reading all the David Walliams's ahead of my seven year old son and have been enjoying them a lot. This has probably been my least favourite but it is still a good book and would quite possibly appeal more to children due to the rather grim nature! Although they are all far fetched, I think this one goes too far at the end and detracts from some of the more sensitive issues it covers. Brave choice to touch on alcoholism and abusive parents but maybe not as easily solved in real life! As usual Raj'a character is fab and nice to see the non-money grabbing side of his character!
