This is the first book I have read by Kate Stewart, and I don't think it would be my last. This book was a unique read, and had elements that I think a lot of today's writers are afraid of using. This book spans over many years, and definitely made me happy, frustrated, and sad over and over. Laura is a fabulous lead female who goes through a journey of discovering herself and her strength, while falling for someone completely unexpected. Seth is a hard worker and a guy with goals who knows what he wants and when he wants it. When Seth meets Laura they realize they are opposite in almost every way. Laura goes where the wind takes her and Seth plans and saves. Regardless, their chemistry is amazing. Together their romance and fire spews out and you just want to read about them forever, however, not everything good lasts or is without challenge. You may not be sure about Seth, and I have to admit the hardest parts for me were about 1/2 way through when I couldn't decide if Seth was a good or bad guy. I guess maybe close to the end I still wasn't sure he deserved Laura, but I think Laura feels the same way. You watch her struggle with him as you do. This book is about loving your opposite and learning what it is like to lose and regain true love after times of sadness, anger, fear, and loss. It is about love standing the test of time and the trials of life and distance. It's worth the read. Karma, fate, the great divine plan are all things that everyone believes in in one form or another. Laura has lived her life pretty liberally. Going with the flow no real plan set out for her life and of course rebelling against conformity much to her parent’s dismay. Born with the proverbial silver spoon in her mouth she fights against that lifestyle with everything she is. She is a bartender and a rebel. After a break up she finds herself homeless and with a busted lip that came courtesy of a hot man and a Frisbee. Seth has a long term plan for his life and is used to getting what he wants. Used to working hard for what he has and wants in the future the day he runs into Laura neither have any clue just what their destiny holds. It could be said that when one meets their soul mate nothing can keep them apart. Guess Fate never took into account the stubbornness of these two. Join Laura and Seth as they go through love, mistakes, heartbreak and a hard won reunion. Nothing is easy the best things are worth fighting for. Will Laura finally let go of her fear and fight for the love of her life? Will Seth get fed up with her insecurities and finally give up? A great love story.
