The writing for this story keeps readers on their toes and makes them question if Sophie will ever find her mother while trying not to be taken away from Charles. There are no illustrations within the book, but the cover illustration gives the book a magical feeling of being on the rooftops of Paris. This story will be great for 3rd-6th grade readers. Teachers can use this story for writing prompts in the classroom by asking students what they think is going to happen next. This was an exciting story to read and it made me keep hoping that Sophie would eventually find her mother. This is a magical book. The voice, the language, and the style are spellbinding. I measure a book by how much I want to finish it as well as how much I don't want it to be over. And then there's this quality where you want to hold the book close to your heart and carry it around with you. I haven't felt this way about a story since My One Hundred Adventures. I love how the female protagonist manages to be both daring and shy at the same time. As the book suggests, always believe in a possible!
