Yes, I agree with others that this is quite perplexing, even for an adult. The illustrations are very similar to the author's Seasons and the themes seem simple - robbers, a witch, a queen who is kidnapped, the route to school, the stranger, the omen. It is quite hard though to work out what the author is doing with it and also the pages are smallish and quite tightly bound so you are constantly turning pages rather fast.I am glad someone else explained that it was a series of variations and extension on the first 'story.'definitely not primary school age without some adult conversation. A fascinating little book. Does require some effort/input/imagination on the part of the reader/viewer. It's need the way it builds from chapter to chapter. This is one to spend time with and talk about.
