An intense and emotional read in more ways than one.From the very beginning, Ms. Webster weaves a story that develops emotional ties between the main characters and readers. These emotional ties were further deepened through our look back into the past at the experiences of Bobby and June from childhood through their early adult years before fate dictated that their paths cross once again.Ms. Webster has a talent for describing both characters and experiences that not only feel “real”, but are relatable. There were many situations that I had gone through myself, and I was able to both sympathize and empathize with the characters. Not only could I relate to the situations, but the emotions felt by the characters were true and genuine and similar, if not identical, to those I felt myself. I am not ashamed to admit that there were points in this story that I cried – and ugly cried at that.I thoroughly enjoyed how conflict, lies, truth, and past experiences all inter-mingled to provide an intense and emotional read. In the end, Bobby and June had grown immensely, developed a full-bodied relationship, and gotten exactly what I felt they deserved.I would definitely recommend “Rock Country” and any of Ms. Webster’s other books to readers looking for an intense, emotion-filled story with well-developed, relatable characters and situations by a talented author. Wow these guys had a lot of sex, like a serious amount of sex. I felt really sorry for June’s lady parts because she must have been permanently walking like John Wayne.Rock Country is the story of June and Bobby. Childhood friends growing up, Bobby’s mum moves him away which effectively ends the growing relationship they were forming.Fast forward fifteen years and Bobby is back home to see his Dad. Now a successful musician in a rock band, he’s always wondered about June.June is a waitress in a dead end job. Married to a loser who decides to use her as a punching bag, she leaves him and moves back home with her mum.When June & Bobby meet up again, the attraction is stronger than ever and they fall into a relationship really quickly. When I say I relationship, I mean they shag like rabbits, because it really didn’t seem like they managed to string more than a few sentences together before the clothes were off, or the hands were under the clothes, or rubbing over the clothes. You get my drift.Whether Kristi’s idea from this story came from a hot and heavy wet dream I don’t know, but she certainly didn’t hold back.As with most love stories, the path doesn’t come without its bumps along the way, but it has a nice HEA for us.If you love a traditional love story with a hot and heavy dose of steam, then i’d recommend you buy this book.A warning - the last fifty minutes of this book are excerpts of K Webster’s other books and a few other recommendations. For me, I think there is too much at the end. If there had been 2 or 3, I would have read them all, but seeing so many at the end, I found a little off putting.
