3.5 star readI think my biggest issue that it needed to be longer. We're talking about people who to a certain extent have been manufactured. They have special abilities, they change forms, then the whole mating frenzy. Anyway my point is that's a lot we needed explained and I think a little more depth would have helped. Caitlyn's character suffered the most for this because we really didn't get much in the way of history whereas the guys had a shared history that was easier and quicker to explain. The next installment being Zac and Ace should improve in this area because we've already been introduced to the heroes and Kelly so we don't need to start from the beginning. World building especially in scifi is so important and it was just lacking here.Still the characters were likeable and the love scenes hottttt. I'm looking forward to continue reading the series.Caution to those not interested in mm because while it doesn't get all that specific it is part of the story. This is the story you get when you cross Lora Leigh's Breed stories with Christine Feehan's Ghostwalkers. Military experiment gone bad, bad guys after them, shifting to animal like creatures, mating heat, and now finding that girls have also been experimented on and are now apart of the heat, and mix. This has a little rougher edge to the sex in that there is some M/M action going on. Originally, I stopped reading this book because of that, but you know how I hate to just have things left unread. It got better as I finished, and I will read the next in the series (because you know I can't leave a series unfinished-usually). TTFN-Sandy
