About book Rifakutaringu Uettouea: Tatsujin Puroguramā No Shikōhō To Gakushūhō (2009)
Lots of interesting ideas and reflections on how we approach learning, designing and implementation tasks. Many of them, which implies not all of them (IMHO), make a lot of sense and therefore can be applied with great benefits. I would definitely recommend to everyone to read the book to at least become familiar with the material.On the other hand, I am a bit skeptical how much reading and learning from a book can be really useful in your work and life. I agree with the suggestions for improving your style, methods, techniques and so on, but that is mainly because I have been experienced them on my own. Would I have performed better if I had known this book earlier? I don't know. That is why my advice is to read this book regardless of whether you believe it would help you or not, then see for yourself. Highly recommended. I truly enjoyed this book. Andy Hunt have managed to strike an excellent balance between overview and introduction while providing sufficient concrete advice on how to realize it to be able to get started on 'refactoring your wetware'. While there wasn't many new and novel ideas, it is a great composition of a lot of different techniques and approaches. The book is written for people working with IT, but most parts can surely be appreciated by people working in other industries.
