I agree with some of the previous reviewers the book started off so good -- some nice fluffy drama with the character of Grace and great details of everyday Regency life -- however the various references to bulging breaches seemed overdone and the ending was disappointing. Chloe's character seemed hastily developed over the last 20 or 30 pages and as a result came off as slightly hypocritical in her anger towards Henry's character. While the last few pages were alright the ending left me generally annoyed and unsatisfied -- especially since I initially couldn't put the book down! Good summer read but not my favorite Austen related book. An interesting premise: Jane Austen obsessed modern woman fed up with modernity goes to England to participate in a game show hoping to win the 100k prize. Upon arrival she finds she is actually to compete for the hand of a handsome, rich, titled bachelor in a reality show where all participants live as they did in 1812. Amusing situations ensue as our addled heroine realizes the 19th century is not such a romantic time . . .
Cute--and what a great twist on the favorite classic.
