Miriam Horn's is a study into some of the lives of the women in Hillary Clinton's class. It describes how they struggled to adapt to the changes in their status in an evolving society where women were beginning to challenge the stereotypes and demand equality, both in the workplace and at home. Obviously, given the elite Wellesley sub-sect of society that this book is focused on, it is not a broader study of women's lives and their evolving role during this era, but rather a narrow study of the women who were probably path-breakers in society given their elite status. Overall, I found myself skimming through several portions of the book as it did not provide any new insights into what these women went through, but rather a cataloging of their travails.
