I loved this book. Even though the writing style was hard to read at first, I got used to it and loved this entire series. Especially this past book. The Jack and Saba relationship is very well put together from start to finish and I loved the ending, even though I nearly bawled because i kept thinking I had read the last epilogue section. In the end I think she ended it perfectly. I have no questions and I can happily dream about it like a book nerd. "Raging Star" the fast-paced and exciting conclusion to the Dust Lands Trilogy is filled with betrayal, lies, secrets and deception as Saba struggles to defeat Seth DeMalo who wants to create a New Eden for a select few. When she and her band of guerilla warriors blow up a bridge killing wagons full of Chosen and slaves, Saba's escape brings about a chance meeting with DeMalo who gives her an ultimatum; freedom for her band if she surrenders and marries him. Although her heartstone burns not only for Jack but DeMalo, Saba will do everything she can to undermine the despot's power and end the game before the blood moon.Jack, presumed dead by the rebels has gone undercover working with a small group of insurgents while keeping in touch with the legendary Angel of Death. Although he wants to fight DeMalo's tyranny, even killing him, Jack agrees to Saba's plan to subvert his power base from within New Eden. What neither of them realize is that there is a traitor within their ranks and that a violent and dangerous confrontation may not only harm her loved ones, but destroy her relationship with Jack. Yet Saba is not about to back down, she's willing to take a chance and embrace her destiny.Moira Young sets the stage in a world controlled by a tyrant who uses Wrecker technology to rule with absolute authority, violence and fear. While the slaves provide labour, the Tonton security, the Chosen are matched, farm the land and procreate; their babies the lifeblood of a community obedient to DeMalo. Only Saba, the Angel of Death and her Free Hawks stand between DeMalo and total domination. The plot is action-packed, suspense building as Saba begins to believe that defeating DeMalo means greater subterfuge rather than bloodshed. In this story the dialect is folksy-unpretentious and simple-and laced with, colourful and down-to-earth characters like Peg the Flight, a skinny old fossil who travels by junkflyer. Even Saba's two sidekicks, Track her wolfdog and Nero, her crow add their own brand of excitement and uproar to the fight. The core characters are well-developed and realistic in this dystopian world where it takes courage and determination to survive. Saba the game changer is strong, single-minded and devoted to her family and friends. A skilled warrior with the weight of responsibility for the safety of her band on her shoulders she tends to be arrogant, and impulsive when she should be more cautious. Often she acts before thinking. Jack the spy and scout in love with Saba is dependable, tenacious, and pragmatic. He feels betrayed after the truth of DeMalo's relationship with her is revealed; her lies undermining his trust. Seth DeMalo a dangerous smooth talker, liar and deceiver says he wants to guide his people, free them from hardship and suffering, but he actually wants to control them. Obsessed with Saba he's willing to offer her a bargain she may not be able to refuse. All the core characters add power, drama and passion to a story that culminates in an ending that will surprise the reader.I thoroughly enjoyed this explosive conclusion to the Dust Lands Trilogy and intend to look for more novels by Moira Young in future.

I really loved how this series started out but it lost some of its magic along the way.

En bok som inte alls är i klass med Moira Youngs två tidigare i trilogin.
