Only way to find out is to pick up this little gem and start reading!This story had hot sex and a great storyline with enough twist and turns to keep you interested to the very end and this is just the beginning of the Cougar Falls series. I have a feeling there is much more animalistic heat to come! This book made no sense. Seriously, no aspect of the world gelled for me. Rachel goes to some small town because her Aunt died. It turns out that the Aunt was the guardian of the mystical MacGuffin that keeps the town safe, and Rachel must find it. How? By "following her inner beast." Luckily for her, sexy cougar shifter Burke is able to take time away from his busy schedule of fighting with strangers and slut shaming his waitress to help her get freaky, inner-beast style. How this helped protect the town I have no idea. I read this book last night and I forgot already. I was really pumped that this was a free multiple partners book, but very confused as to how the animal scent marking thing (gross!) worked. Burke was very eager to keep Rachel to himself, but for some reason having his brothers gang bang her helped the initiation process? The book was careful to point out that it was only for hot women entering the back (male pack members have a different process.) As always, if a book says the dudes doing the gang banging are brothers, I pretend that they are just close friends for my own peace of mind. Also, for fellow horn dogs, I have to warn you that the scene fades to black just when it was getting good. Also, do cougars even have packs? I am an erotic romance review writer, not a biologist so who the hell knows, but it felt off. As far as shifter fics go, this makes The Keeping look like Shakespeare. However, it is really short and also free, so you don't need to take my word for it!
