Priscilla Sumner is enjoying her summer before 7th grade. She's not the typical girl as she's into super heroes and video games. But she is having a typical crush and a best friend to confide in. At an end of the summer pool party, she starts having weird hot flashes—which included fire!I really enjoyed this story being a girl who likes super heroes. The characters are quirky which I think makes them fun and relatable.As issues of puberty are addressed, I would recommend this book for upper middle grade girls.With an overprotective father, seemingly absent mother, a love sick other brother, and annoying younger twin brothers this books is rarely dull. This is decent YA fiction- nothing terribly thought provoking like Divergent or The Hunger Games, but it is an engaging, entertaining read. I made the mistake of reading the first three in quick succession (thank you, Amazon, for having a 3-book bundle free for the Kindle!) and began to grow tired of the repetition of some phrases. I'm sure I will eventually pick up the rest of the books in the series, but one at a time and used as a light buffer between books with more intense themes.
