A cute read with a lot of British slang. I thought the relationship between Phil and Tom went from hate to like pretty quickly. There were a lot of secrets, a lot of painful history that wasn't touched in the slightest. It just made for a relationship between the two without some sort of truce or thaw not believable. I also thought the case they ended up working on together just kind of all of the sudden got dangerous. The first thought in my head when the ball started really rolling at the end when Tom could not get a hold of Phil was well...that escalated quickly...In the end it was a cute read. I'm not running off to read the next in the series or anything but I'll keep it in mind. This book is a 99% mystery plus 1% romance, and sometimes I wonder even that 1% romance is just from Tom to Phil only. No doubt that Phil does have feeling for Tom. But is it because of guilt or is it an aftermath of that bittersweet high school crush? He is definitely hiding a lot from Tom. His tragic marriage with another guy looks like a big skeleton in the closet that looms ahead and cast a long shadow over the happy ending. Except the unsatisfactory romance, the other reason that makes me rate this book a bit low is the language. I had a hard time understand some of words and jokes in this book due to the very British language used by the author. But that problem is purely personal and I guess I can solve it by watching more British sitcoms from now on =.=And....Arthur and Merlin, wish you enjoy your peaceful and simple life without ugly Gwen.
Do You like book Pressure Head (2012)?
Very fun and rather witty gay mystery/romance.
