I had really looked forward to reading Johnny's and Crystal's story. Their love story was very hot and sweet but the rest of the story fell short of the first two in the Black Ops, Inc. series. It was a fast read and I did enjoy it but Crystal's ability to fend off guys twice her size and more than one at a time is a little unbelievable. The storyline about the white slavery trade around the world is an important one and Ms. Gerard does a good job of making the reader feel for these victims. I did enjoy having most of the recurring characters back in this book but the ending was a little rushed and not as good as the others. I would recommend this book because it is part of the series and Johnny Duane is a favorite of many readers. This is absolutely my favorite Black Ops novel so far. It will be hard to top it. Crystal was an awesome heroine with just the right mix of damsel-in-distress and kick-ass-and-take-names-herself Tinkerbelll. And Johnny... swoon. His shameless flirting and charm jumped off the page and warmed your heart without ever coming off as skeezy player. And together, Crystal and Johnny were so stinkin' cute together it's insane. Also, let's not forget the BOIs. I love them. Their dark humor, smooth sarcasm, and snarky wit is so fun to read. I love how they interact with each other and it's seriously only gotten better book to book.I also love how the stories all overlap, seamlessly introducing you to the next book's possible pairing. It creates an instant connection to the characters that I think Gerard awesomely capitalizes on. It definitely made a difference for me in regard to this book. That being said though, these books MUST BE READ IN ORDER to be fully enjoyed. Otherwise, you're missing out on fully enjoying them. Can't wait to start the next one!
