About book Poisoned Apples: Poems For You, My Pretty (2014)
I rarely choose to read poetry but, after seeing Poisoned Apples on this year's Goodreads 'Best Of' List, I was intrigued. It was a quick read, and was actually quite poignant in its portrayal of self-esteem issues. I also thought the integration of the issues into well known fairy tales was a unique touch. One of the best features of Poisoned Apples is probably the artistic photographs accompanying each poem! I probably won't choose to pick up more poetry anytime soon, but I'm still happy to have read this collection. Okay, so I started this book today and finished it. It was okay, I guess I had higher expectations for it because everybody was saying how good it was but I really didn't think it was all that good. It was very inappropriate and it just wasn't my style. I will admit though, it was a very quick read and I recommend it to you not because I enjoyed reading it but so you can fulfill your poetry genre requirement. I will say don't just look at my review of the book look at other peoples because some people really liked it, and you may too! So conclude this I really did not care for this book.

A book of poetry. "Fairytales" for the present-era.
