Point of Redemption (Nordic Lords MC #2)By: Stacey Lynn4/5 starsAt the end of book 1, Point of Return, Ryker had just gotten a lead on Faith’s whereabouts. This book doesn’t start right after this, it back tracks to Ryker working & living in New Orleans before Daemon called him to come home. So we also got to see quite a few interactions from book 1, but from Ryker’s and Faith’s POV.Ryker Knight left Jasper Bay about 5 years ago after the infamous night where Olivia was shot, her mother was killed and his father was killed in the Knight family home. He ran from his entire life. He left Faith, his fiancée, his brother Daemon, who was also his only blood relative. Since then he never goes home, rarely calls his brother and tries to work and drink away the ghosts that haunt him, of which there a two main characters, his dad and Faith. Faith was an escort at the Penny Boarding House for the Black Death MC, and not by choice or free will. But Daemon, who was VP at the time made a deal with Hammer, the President of the Black Death, to help out the other MC & work together to get rid of another problem in exchange for getting Faith back. But at the end of book 1, Cain, the VP of Black Death took off with Faith and the Nordic Lords had been searching high and low for her.Faith and Ryker have many issues to work through in their pasts, both individually and together. They will have to examine their past relationship and decide if they can let go of the guilt and blame and be able to move forward.I really liked this book, but there were inconsistencies compared to the info given in book 1. For example, in book 1, Ryker was on 2 years older than Daemon but in this book, he was 4 and where someone was stabbed in book 1, in this one that person was shot. For me, the last 20% of the book wasn’t needed. Except for the very last scene. At the beginning of Olivia's book (#1 in series) I didn't really know what to think about Faith. By the end of the 1st book, we find out that Faith's mother sold her to the rival MC for her drug habit and protection. That completely flipped (obviously) how you looked at Faith and her working for the MC as an escort/prostitute. You also start to pick up on her aloofness with Olivia, etc., due to the MCs control. This book was so heartbreaking to read how Faith/Ryker has everything planned and then in one night of violence and misunderstanding how their world changed for 5 long years. The timeline for this book overlaps a little with the first. Ryker does the right think every time and that makes him the ultimate hero. The ultimate motivation for Cain's (rival MC) fixation with Faith? Kind of a long shot, but it was better than the million other places my mind went. Personally, I would have given up on her mom the minute she sold me. Oy, Mother's Day is awkward in that house.
