The story of Uran and the homeless person is the real highlight of this third book. Though the book gets bogged down a little in the middle, with the further mystery of Gesicht, his past, and then the back story for the man out to kill him, it finishes on just the right note. The introduction of a new character in Epsilon opens the way for some more interesting story, and the last two or three chapters shed a little light on some things, but reveal just as much shadow underneath what's now been highlighted.But then, with Urasawa Naoki at the helm, you should have seen that coming. Une excellente surprise.Je connaissais le dessinateur, Naoki Urusawa, pour son Yawara! (j'ai quelques tomes en japonais) et son 20th Century Boys (premiers tomes trouvés à la bibliothèque). Je connais et apprécie aussi Osamu Tezuka, bien sûr, depuis l'univers futuriste d'Astro Boy (quelques tomes japonais, la série TV diffusée en France) jusqu'à Princesse Saphir (Ribbon no Kishi), Black Jack, l'hilarant Don Dracula, les super-oiseaux, et plein d'autres encore.Le mélange ici est détonnant. Urusawa est parti d'une histoire d'Astro, et s'approprie l'univers, les personnages, la trame. Mais, originalité et coup de génie, il l'interprète sur un mode réaliste, dans son style minutieux, méticuleux. Décors grandioses, voitures futuristes mais réalistes, robots plus ou moins sophistiqués.Astro et sa sœur Uran ressemblent totalement à de petits enfants. Le policier robot héros de l'histoire est aussi humanoïde, comme d'autres robots impliqués.L'histoire reprend le thème des robots comme minorité opprimée récemment émancipée, mais toujours soumise à des préjugés, de la haine, du racisme. Mais aussi l'histoire récente, la guerre en Irak, en accusant un pays (la Perse dans le manga) de cacher des armes de destruction massive (des robots).La psychologie des robots est très fouillée, rendus sympathiques, repentants des exactions commises lors de guerres récentes. Et détruits par une force impitoyable et toute-puissante : Pluto.J'attends de lire la suite avec impatience.
