Gripping and well written. The dilemmas that Jaye faces are well revealed and explored. The dialogue in this series is excellently crafted, especially that between the two main characters Jaye and Jack. Their romance has a lightening effect on the rather gruesome nature of the storyline. But the processes of detection and forensics are fascinating. I really like the characterisation, especially of Jaye who is strong but bears the scars and weaknesses of her family history. I see there are two more novels in the series, and I fear that I will get no sleep until I've read them all! I LOVE the J.J. Graves series by Liliana Hart! J.J. lives in the small town of Bloody Mary. She is the town's coroner/mortician and is up to her elbows in dead bodies in this second installment. The mystery, plot twists and continued character development are fantastic! The addition of J.J.'s entanglement with Bloody Mary's top Detective, Jack Lawson, adds just the right amount of spice. I can't wait for the third book and maybe a clue or two as to what J's in J.J. really stand for.
