We actually have "Bats at the Beach", and that made this book a little more fun for me. The beginning of this book matches up with the end of "Bats at the Beach", like they finished at the beach and headed to the library. One of the little bats even still has their water wings on! I love, love, love, how this story reads. It flows off your tongue like gold, and the pictures are nice too. Especially towards the end, when it's story time and the little bats are pretending to be in the story, there are tons of references to other books and it was fun trying to figure them out. This book (along with the previous one) makes me want to find more "Bats at the ..." books! I am a big fan, both of bats and libraries, and this is nicely done. The poem is maybe a little forced in places, but hey, it's about bats making an excursion to a library so I can see how such a specific topic might impose some challenges in the poetry department. It's a little above Lucy's reading level at this point, but she also loves going to the library, and likes recognizing the bats' various library activities.
Do You like book Pipistrelli In Biblioteca (2009)?
Bats are hanging out at the library. The text and illustrations are both so much fun!
