This is definitely a YA book that deals with serious bullying and the impact it has on the individual and families. Great for middle schoolers and young high schoolers, and even though this is about a HS senior, it felt younger. It held my interest because of the romance part of this, but that seemed pretty far-fetched and bordering on co-dependency.There are a number of typos and every sentence is its own paragraph which made this seem choppy when it wasn't.I really liked that the parents eventually got her to therapy and there's hope for her recovery. YA books aren't usually my read but considering the author I figured I'd give it a shotPierced Love is a great story about a young girl, bullied for years and nobody in her family has a clue. The story is well paced, keeps you interested and has it's happy ending!I can say Zar's underlying issues causing her panic attacks weren't as bad as I expected, not to take away from what she went through and how it affected her, honestly I'm glad it wasn't any worse.Loudon is her rock. The one person she learns she can count on no matter what and is the reason she comes clean with everyone in her family, she' knows he'll be there for her, something she hasn't experienced from another person in years. She was stronger than she knew but needed someone to help her see it.I love the characters, the story and the ending. It kept me into it so much that I read this book in one day, rarely stopping.
