About book Pesta Tenis (1995)

oh, madeleine wickham, how you continue to disappoint me. I have to say I really enjoy her books written as Sophie kinsella, but as Madeleine it's as if she can only write about rich people having struggles. Which, of course, isn't that relatable. The financial terms aren't interesting to the story at all, yet they are still in there. Not the best idea.40 love started really slow, and it was very hard to get into. Though, in the middle of the book there started happening things (finally) and you were starting to wonder how it all would come together in the end. But it didn't! Almost none of the problems were solved in the end, they only talked a lot about it. The characters are so unrelatable, that you almost want them to end up having a lot of problems. So, in conclusion, this definitely isn't the best book I've ever read by Sophie Kinsella/Madeleine Wickham. I'd almost say the worst one. I give it 2,5 stars, only for the kind of good middle of the book Didn't really like this book. I thought it would be snarky and fun, but instead it's more like rubbernecking at a traffic accident on the side of the road. Everyone is growing older, feeling missed opportunities, and miserable. There is not a single admirable character in this whole book. I meet enough rotten people in real life; I don't need to read about them for my entertainment. Basic plot is a weekend party of old friends, where each has a secret (usually financial) to hide and to regret.

Do You like book Pesta Tenis (1995)?

It was ok - the whole book is set over one tennis weekend Not really my favorite of her books.

Good beach reading. Hard to feel any empathy for any of the characters, except maybe Annie.

This was not near to par with her later novels. I could not even finish it.

I was dissappointed. The characters were almost all unlikeable.

Not the one of my favorites, but it is nice.
