I am adult (not teen) and I enjoyed this book. As a reader I felt a little manipulated in that information was purposefully withheld, but I was engaged the whole way through and wanted to find out the "truth". I wasn't sure I 100 percent believed the story once it was revealed, but the writing was very good and again, I kept reading and wanted to get to the end. The book had a dreamy quality about it. I still don't know what I think of this book. Lies, deceit and growing up all at a boarding school. To me it all a little familiar. I feel there are better boarding school stories out there. However I understand the literary genius in this book. The poems and the chapter names dictating if the section was a flashback or the present so on. That is why I will put this on a new list of books that I might have to reread, I feel that there might be things that I have missed. I also like how this book did not have a happy story line or a Disney ending.
I'd probably give the writing a 4. It really is beautifully written. I just didn't love the story.
