About book Pan's Revenge (2000)

I loved Neverland (book one). I was whisked away to a magical land, fell in love with Captain James Hook of all people and cried when Angel left to go home. I thought I knew what to expect from the sequel and couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. Pan’s revenge surprised me. I won’t go into long plot descriptions, because I don’t want to stop it surprising you, but it went in a direction I hadn’t predicted leaving me wondering how it could end. There were plenty of tense moments. I despaired of Angel a fair few times and got irritated with Peter. I felt as though I was right in there with them, and when I got to the ending I loved it. It was perfect and I was even more in love with Captain James Hook than I had been at the end of book one. This is a wonderful, magical book that will make you smile, fly and believe in fairies and mermaids. If you like romance, fairy tales and fantasy, give yourself a treat. I was disappointed by Pan's Revenge. It was no where near as entertaining, alluring or engaging as its prequel, "Neverland."The main character, Angelina, reminded me of Anastasia's Steele's "inner goddess" -- and in a bad way. I'm not a Twilight fan or a 50 Shades fan and I think both authors are absolute crap who advocate all the is wrong society (but that's another conversation.)This one reads more like a fan fiction, than an original story (even if it is in another author's universe). And the plot line seems very forced. I think that the author could have made one larger book out of the two stories and taken out some of the mumbo jumbo-fillers she put in. I'm also a huge Once Upon a Time fan and I was hoping for some type of good twist and story like they have in that show as well. No such luck.Giving it 3 stars because Neverland was awesome and because the ending was redeemable.
