Pandora Gets Angry is a great book. The series usually focus on Greek gods, but this time it also include Persian religion. The setting of this wonderful book takes place in Persia and this time Pandora and her friends: Iole and Homer, need to capture the fifth evil: rage. The reason why Pandora’s other best friend, Alcie, isn’t with her is due to her being killed by Hera. Now Alcie is located in the underworld. During the process of reading this book, I read about many different themes. One of them are temptation. In this book it explains the different types of things that can tempt a person into doing something they’re not suppose to do. My favorite part of this book is when Pandora and her friends enter the Garden of Jinn to save Alcie who got back from the underworld. While reading the process of them getting into the Garden of Jinn, I found out that it’s not only physical things, such as money or clothes, but there also relationship. Family, friends, and love can also force or tempt people to do different things. Book Review #2 I felt bad for Pandora during the journey of finding the evil, rage, because there were so many problems that are around her, such as Iole being sick, Homer blaming Pandora for what she had done, Alcie being in the underworld, and also sandstorms in Egypt. She must have felt very frustrated. This book has a genre of fiction or fantasy. Before I started reading the book I wondered about the cover's meaning. What does a genie's lamp has to Pandora and what did Pandora release in the cover page? I wonder what the last two evils she still need to capture is? Since I started reading the first book of the series I wondered why the Gods didn't help and interfere more with Pandora's journey. Since this is such an important journey and not finding all the evils in time can affect the gods, I thought the gods should have helped Pandora more throughout her journey of finding the seven evils she resisted. Another terrific Pandora book. What makes this series so great is that it's just plain entertaining for kids, while at the same time making grown-ups happy that kids are reading such smart books. Underneath the banter and lighthearted adventure is a serious story about responsibility, love and bravery. But all of the dark edges are appropriate for tweens and teens and give the books the depth that make them more than just another silly (but fun) story. When you add in the history, mythology and literary references, and Hennesy's rapier wit and great imagery, you end up with a smart series of books that are also terrifically fun to read. This book was no exception. I have to say, Hera made me experience some rage of my own! I'm still enjoying watching the girls grow up; they feel very real despite their unreal circumstances and their love for each other is very touching. And the trip to Bagdad was beautiful and exciting, a very different adventure than the usual myth tale.
