Upřímně, Paganiniho smlouva, vzhledem k tomu, jak jsem se na ní těšil, mě docela zklamala. Prvních a posledních 100 stránek je výborných, ale ta prostřední část mě místy hodně nudila a četl jsem dál jen díky vlastní vůli. Na druhou stranu: styl psaní Larse Keplera je naprosto výjimečný, neokoukaný, zábavný a jistým způsobem i krásný. Příjemné jsou i krátké kapitoly. Celkem bych to viděl tak na 60%, ale věřím, že Svědkyně ohně i Písečný muž mě potěší daleko víc. This was a much better book than it's predecessor The Hypnotist. That earlier novel over relied on such worn out cliches as "he's crazy" to explain character motivation, and its explanation of the crime was too pat. This book has few of those vices and is a much more assured work. There is still a lot of melodrama, and a lot of things that are totally obvious, but it works better. the character of Loona, the Finnish police inspector is a much more interesting character. All in all, this is a well done potboiler. And you should know what that means, that's right, it's another James Patterson book I am not buying.
