3.0 StarsI was hyped up for this one. It's baseball; it's May-December romance; it got great reviews. Well, maybe I set the bar too high. I liked both Iggy and Matt. And, I liked that they were at opposite ends of their respective professional careers. I could understand the need to keep their relationship under wraps. I appreciated the build-up to all of this but then it kinda stalled. Somewhere in the middle, I kept thinking, "Okay, any day now! Something has to happen!" Although the story picked up again and I enjoyed the HEA (swoon), the end result was less than stellar.Bottom line: okay but I thought it'd be better. What a story! I am so glad I got a chance to read and enjoy this book now that I'm on vacation! I have to say it was 3am and I couldn't put it down! It was sweet, what seemed expertly written, and beautiful. It wasn't overly angsty, just enough to give the story some drama. But the relationship between Iggy & Matt totally took my breath away. I love how I wAs a slow progression and gave us a glimpse through their relationship over a longer period of time. They were solid, 100% solid, but not without their ups and downs. We can only hope real life will emulate this great story by Ms. McMurray and the gay baseball players that are more than likely playing on our teams get this chance to just live and enjoy their partners. Wonderful story!! Two thumbs up!!
