This was such a good book! The characters were diverse and believable, the fighting-a-corporation plot wasn't completely far-fetched, there were lots of good points about the environment, and it made me laugh out loud. This is one of those books that I hope teachers will read aloud to students to send a message that they can make a difference and can do anything if they don't give up. I was worried at first, especially because of predators on the Internet and the message that this book may send - that there may be extenuating circumstances that would make running off on your own to meet someone you met on the Internet acceptable, but I was glad that the author dealt with that through the conversation between Julian and his grandmother, Popo. The characters in this book were all very likable, well, with the exception of Sibley and Daphne, who were the perfect villains (I could just picture in my mind who would play them if this were ever made into a movie). Otherwise, though, the adults - Nancy and Bob, Popo, and Gram were all portrayed as caring, concerned, and kind, while the children each had their own wonderful characteristics which wove together to create an intriguing friendship. I look forward to reading more by this author!
