About book Oogy: The Dog Only A Family Could Love (2010)

This book was amazing. It's about a dog named Oogy that someone used as pitbull bait and nearly killed him. The owners were put in jail and Oogy was adopted and named Oogy, a "prettier" way of saying ugly. He has a better family now and is caring and loving. This book is truly heart touching.I recommend this book to people who like books that are happy and sad. If you cry over books this book is definitely not your book. I hope you love this book and recommend it to others. “Oogy, the Dog only a Family Could Love” by Larry Levin is the true story of dog tortured and abused as a puppy. “He is not the product of accidental injury, but a living symbol of an epidemic that kills thousands of dogs each year” – dog fighting. Missing an ear and half his face after being used as a “bait dog”, his chance of survival was slim. But due to a vet and his receptionist who wouldn’t give up on him, and a family who fell in love with his spirit and resilience, Oogy has become the face of triumph -- a dog who never let the evil that was done to him leave him emotionally scarred. Although there is a bit too much rambling in the telling, this should be a must read for all dog lovers. It’s a sweet story about an amazing dog and the many lives he’s touched.
