This was a light, fun book to read on a plane. It didn't take too much following in terms of plot or character nuances and the outcome was never really in doubt. It reminded me of the books about summer camp, best friends and romances with unsuitable boys from my teenage years. Although the books I read back then didn't involve quite so many (ahem) adult moments in the woods! The only thing that bothered me - and this may be because I am not American - is the frequent panty references. Panties - the wetness thereof, tinglings wherein and hot men in the vicinity of - were never mentioned once a chapter when a couple of times could do. Enough with the panties already! The truth is, I wanted to read this book because it was set in a small town in Ohio. When I saw this author had other books in a series, I went ahead and bought them all at the same time. This is the first in the series and I will say I liked it, I might even really like it, but I think the author sold the book based on the sex scenes. I am all for a good sex scene and the scenes were written very well, but there were too many. The background stories of the characters were really good and if Toni Blake would have focused a little more on this, I would have thought the book was excellent. As I stated, I bought all books in the series at one time. I have started #4. The series does get better with book 2 and 3.....
Do You like book One Reckless Summer (2009)?
Typical predictable love (with the bad boy) story.
