When a beautiful Russian model falls into a drug-induced coma at an event the Village Blend coffee house is helping to cater, manager Clare Cosi is concerned that Matteo, her ex-husband, and business partner, may become a suspect. She's also dealing with the ex-wife (nasty) and two kids (adorable) of her NYPD boyfriend, now on loan to the government in Washington. But she's also finding that the magic coffee beans Matteo found in Ethiopia are giving her visions and flashbacks. Is it worth the risk of the beans to find clues to the various craziness that's going on in her life? Frankly, I found it a relief when someone explains to Clare just what's going on with the beans. It's fairy tale week in NYC and Clare along with the Village Blend are joining the story by converting their coffee truck into a Jack and the Beanstalk theme, while Madame, Clare's boss and former mother-in-law, is trying out some new beans her son, Matt, brought back from Africa. The beans claim to have magical powers that allow the drinker to see visions. Clare is skeptical until she unknowingly drinks some of the coffee herself and finds her boyfriends missing children in Central Park. But missing children isn't all Clare finds - she also finds a drugged princess from the show and her ex was the last person to see the princess alive.Now Clare has to find out who tried to kill the beautiful princess and to do so, she must drink more of the coffee. Her visions lead her to a number of suspects with secret clubs and shady characters and a monster that is fast on her heels!
Do You like book Once Upon A Grind (2014)?
This book wasn't terrible, but I feel like this series is becoming really predictable.
