I rounded up on this one. I hate writing bad reviews, but this book was very poorly written. It reads like a rushed first rough draft. The idea behind the story is great! A modern day fairy tail and I love these kinds of stories. I'm sure it made complete sense to the author and apparently a lot of readers as well, but to me, the characters, the plot, the conflict, the story arc was all underdeveloped, disjointed, and rushed. It just skipped from this to that. How and why and what caused Damond and Johanna to fall in love. The Sunday afternoon visits conflict could have been so easily resolved. IDK...On a positive note. What we do learn of both the main characters personalities is likeable. They are both good people. Also, the bedroom scenes are very steamy, but tastefully written.Well anyway, I believe this story had a lot of potential but just fell flat. That is just my opinion. So there you go. Happy reading! I may be girly at heart, but I love a book where the couple HAVE to get married. I know other readers don't, but it's a plot that I'm a sucker for. The hero in this, Damon, I loved from his first words to his awesome inner dialogue. He was just a great guy. She didn't grow on me quite as fast, but as her backstory built--you could see why she was so reserved and anxious. The plot really carried you along and I kept sneaking in chapters here and there all day when I should have been doing other things. If Amazon could give half stars, I would deduct a half star down for how many times I mentally shouted at the characters for not communicating better, but that might be a sign of how involved I was also. I just wanted to shake Damon and say, "Just tell her who X is!!!"
Do You like book On One Condition (2012)?
