George, the dog, promises to be good, but when Harry is gone he can't resist when temptation is presented. He's sorry when Harry gets home and offers a gift to Harry. Harry forgives him and when they go for a walk, George is able to resist the temptations. It ends with the reader trying to decide what George's last decision will be. This book would be good for predicting, but the illustrations are a little bland. Really short, but really funny. It is truly a universal story: George knows what he's supposed to do, he really WANTS to do what he's supposed to do, but in the end, he has a little trouble with discipline and impulse-control. But then, he tries again to do his best. Who can't relate with that? I think this would be a good discussion starter with kids, as well as a book kids will enjoy just for fun..
