This was definitely the most different book of all in this series so far but not necessarily better. One thing that makes a series work is its consistency with characterizations and plot, and this book made a huge change in both aspects. Leaving all the other characters out except the lead, missing out on the bodachs, his 'talent' was not in the forefront of this particular story and it treads on a place where science fiction and the paranormal try to blend but felt like oil and water trying to to mix. This is a major shift in the story following the Odd Thomas adventure though nothing much happened and the story was sort of disappointing. Continuing my Odd Thomas marathon, with Apocalypse. This one was stranger than the last, and very different from the previous books. No Elvis, no Frank Sinatra, but a very brief appearance by Hitchcock. The book reminded me of something and it wasnt until the final third that it clicked - Talisman by Stephen King. You will see why when you read it. I wonder when the authorities will start putting together all the bodies with the location of a certain fry cook?
Do You like book Odd Apocalypse (2012)?
Quirky, eerie and funny Odd Thomas back for another adventure. I listened to this one.
