Reviewed by CrystalBook provided by the publisher for reviewReview originally posted at Romancing the BookI hate to say this but this was the first book that I have read in this series. I guess you’d think that I was missing out on a lot of the back story but this book goes back and tells you a little about each of the past books.I really enjoyed Thorne and Marguerite’s story. Thorne had a lot of responsibility placed on him and he had to choose between his duty and his love so he chose the one that would center him. Thorne has been Marguerite’s savior for 100 years. There is no way that I would want to be locked up for 100 years as a convict and have all kinds of things done to me. Thank goodness that Marguerite had Thorne to help her through some of it. If it had been me, I would already be dead. Fate showed its sense of humor when Thorne finds out that when Marguerite is set free she is his breh.I loved the way that the book was written. It really kept me on my toes and wondering if anything would ever go right. I just hated that it took Marguerite so long to give in to Thorne. I could, however, understand that she wanted to just get away from it all and start all over. The story line itself was very easy to follow. It had a lot of depth to it.I can’t wait to read the next book. We get a little taste of the next one, which I loved. I guess now I’ll go back and read the first four! That should keep me busy. Excellent. Look, these books, like BDB and LotU, are formula same focused but sometimes a certain couple or milestone in the series arc, is better than the other books in a great series. The focus here on T/M is outstanding. M is a h that wants to be a downright slut and has turned out to be a faithful partner to one man for over 100 years. T is a leader disguising himself as a second in command. Together, they excel. And the side characters...and the next generation...and Endelle who broke my heart and is still the constant in the series...and the whole Cas-Grace-Leto thing up next...I of course want Cas but it's clear he will lose...too bad since sometimes why shouldn't the bad guy get the girl! I'm doubtful any future story can rival this one but this writer has moved to my top 10 list permanently.
Do You like book Obsidian Flame (2012)?
I will say one thing about Roane, she knows how to write sex scenes.
