What this novel lacks in an attention grabbing storyline, it makes up for in its' beautiful descriptions of the landscape and people of Capri. Luanne Rice writes well...she definitely makes me consider pulling a Lyra and escaping from all responsibilities to a beautiful island where I could garden my life away. But it just wasn't realistic. Lyra is essentially a loving mother and I just don't believe she would leave her daughters the way she did. Mental illness is no excuse...Pell's relationship with Rafe left much to be desired. I waited and waited for their inherent climax and was left with nothing. And lucky Pell...Travis forgave her. Although at the end a happy ending was achieved, I was only left wanting more. I wanted to know more about Max and Lyra's growing love, I wanted to know if the girls moved to Capri, did Lucy stop sleepwalking?, did Pell and Travis get married?, what about Rafe and Monica??? I hate it, but I love it.... Para começar, não sei se foi azar ou simples coincidência, mas neste livro também encontrei erros de troca de nomes de personagens. Não que me atrapalhe a leitura, mas é chato. Faz-me ler a página outra vez porque parece que me escapou algo mas é apenas uma troca de nomes. Este livro é uma daquelas leituras perfeitas para o Verão. Primeiro porque é leve e relaxada, e segundo porque se passa num local paradisíaco. Não que alguma vez eu tenha posto os meus pés em Capri (quem me dera) mas basta ler as descrições para perceber que se o paraíso existe deve ser parecido com aquela ilha remota na Itália. E o livro tem aquele toque de esperança no futuro, de nos fazer acreditar que todos cometemos erros na vida e todos fazemos asneiras mas temos direito a novas oportunidades. O importante é que o passado já lá foi e o presente, esse sim , é o importante! Não é um grande livro, mas é um livro bom. Dá-nos umas boas horas de descanso quase como se tivéssemos lá.Obrigada à Maria pelo empréstimo!
